Angelica Freeman
“Hope, resilience, and dignity weave through my sculptures, mirroring the silent struggles of the oppressed—struggles deeply etched into my family’s history in the Far East and into the soil of the American South, where I have rerooted.
Wood, scarred by storms and time, carries memories of destruction yet speaks of endurance. Glass, fragile yet luminous, reflects the promise of light, transformation, and redemption. Marble, once a symbol of opulence built on the backs of the oppressed, now stands as a quiet witness to the dignity of those who endured and those who were lost.”
