"This body of work is very much a personal journal of my discoveries in that all the paintings are sourced from photos I have taken while hiking.

My intention was to be true to the botanical form but present the wildflower in such a way as to celebrate its uniqueness, to maintain the scale yet give it significance. I hope they reflect my love for the subject as well as my love for the poetry of color, texture and pattern, which for me is very much derived from nature as well."
