Philip Morsberger is a true colorist, allowing color to determine his every move.  The artist himself states, 'My works are about organizing and putting colors together to see what happens.'

Even in his figural works, he is completely inspired by color and seeing what images arise. Morsberger derives inspiration from the sheer process of making . "There’s nothing I’d rather be doing than shoving paint around . . . What’s going to come of this next stroke? It’s all a great mystery.."
